Composition of conveyor belts:


In the construction of the band, the casing is the essential part, since this gives the conveyor belt the resistance to breakage and can be manufactured in fabrics (textile) or metallic (metallic) cables.

  • Textile: It is composed of Synthetic Fabrics (PS) Polyester in the longitudinal direction, warp, and nylon in the transverse direction, weft. These fabrics are suitable for absorbing high stresses and resistant to breakage, impact and humidity. They are being manufactured with different qualities depending on the application. The most commonly used types of fabric on conveyor belts are Polyester (E) in the longitudinal direction and Polyamide (P) in the transverse direction.
  • Metallic:
    Steel Cord: Its casing is composed of steel cables and is designated with the letters ST. These belts have a high resistance to traction and to impacts with a low coefficient of elongation, so they are used in long lengths or for high-stress work, strong impacts, etc. They are used in mining, quarries, etc.
    Fleximat: Like the ST bands, its casing is made up of metallic cables incorporating steel cables transversely, which multiplies the properties in the hardest working conditions.


Coating is called to the rubber coatings that protect the carcass of the band from damages caused by impacts, chemical attacks, temperature and others. They are manufactured with rubbers of different qualities in the composition of the rubber and should have the suitable thickness to cover the needs of the materials to be transported, being able to be built with different profiles on the upper face.

  • Rubber properties: Covers are manufactured with rubbers suitable for the materials to be transported and in accordance with international regulations. The properties of the rubbers are determined according to the resistance to the materials to be transported as they may be; resistant to grease and mineral, animal and vegetable oils; resistant to temperature; resistant to abrasion; resistant to fire, and other specials that can be manufactured at the request of the client.
  • As for its construction: Covers can be manufactured without profiles, smooth, or with profiles. These can be: ribbed with profiles of different shapes and sizes, Grip Top with rough profile, special with profiles at the customer’s request and according to the materials to be transported and the work inclination.

Tipos de bandas según la inclinación:
1. Flat: Inclination of 0-10 degrees and the bands are smooth
2. Inclined: Inclination of 10-35 degrees
a. Ribbed with different heights:
15 mm, 25 mm, 32 mm y 50 mm.
b. Rugged or Grip Top that prevents the material from sliding down the band.
3. Vertical: Inclination of > 35 degrees.
